WAY gallery presents a solo exhibition by Lisa Larsson, on view 8 to 10 May in Stockholm. The exhibition brings together a new body of large-scale oil paintings in which figurative subjects emerge through atmospheres of openness, movement and quiet introspection. Working at the intersection of reality and imagination, Larsson constructs painterly spaces that suggest an elsewhere, a place shaped as much by memory and longing as by observation.

Previously exploring themes of the female body, identity and perspective through figurative painting, Larsson’s recent practice has evolved into a more fluid visual language in which realism and abstraction converge.

With an expression that moves between precision and poetry, Lisa Larsson creates paintings that invite the viewer into worlds marked by intimacy, sensuality, and a distinctly contemporary sensibility.

Lisa Larsson (b. 1991, Gothenburg) is a Swedish artist based in Stockholm. She studied Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design from 2012–2013, and lived and worked in New York City between 2012–2019. Her years in New York were formative in the development of her practice.
