Yoyo Nasty

Emerging from humor and visual play, Yoyo Nasty explores how bold storytelling can transform the everyday into the fantastical. Her works often feature vibrant, imaginative scenes populated by animals, plants, and other recurring motifs that transform the ordinary into something both familiar and fantastical. She holds a Master of Fine Art from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design (2019) and a BA in Fashion Design from Beckmans College of Design (2016).

Drawing inspiration from cartoons, Yoyo has developed a personal and intuitive visual universe filled with recurring symbols such as dogs, tigers, natural elements, and references to 1980s interior design. These motifs act as both aesthetic devices and emotional triggers – decorative, nostalgic, and instantly engaging. Her process is spontaneous and driven by feeling, resulting in compositions where bold color clashes and harmonies unfold in dynamic, carefully balanced ways.

Yoyo has exhibited widely across Sweden, including at Vallentuna Kulturhus (2025) and through a large-scale mural commissioned by Gävle Konstcentrum. In 2024, she presented her first international solo exhibition at Galería Casa Colón in Mérida, Mexico, marking an important milestone in her practice. Her work has also been shown in South Korea, further expanding her international presence.

At its core, Yoyo’s practice is about accessibility, expression, and joy. Her works invite the viewer into a colorful, imaginative playground where humor, emotion, and visual pleasure coexist on equal terms.
