Sculptor
Jeanette Åkerberg
Jeanette Åkerberg’s practice centers on ceramic sculpture as a way of paying homage to women and celebrating the beauty of diversity. Working primarily with figurative forms, she creates unique female figures that embody both strength and fragility. Her sculptures highlight the individuality of every body, inviting a rethinking of ideals and an appreciation of difference.
Through her work Åkerberg opens a conversation about identity, self worth and representation. “I want to create art that opens up for conversation, that awakens something in the eye of the beholder. And to show that different bodies exist and are equally gorgeous.” Each sculpture carries this intention, offering presence and recognition through form.
Jeanette Åkerberg (b. 1992) lives and works in Stockholm. She began working with ceramics in a course led by Pia Anliot and has exhibited at Women in Art at Miss Clara Hotel in Stockholm and at Blå Hallen in Höganäs.
