Hannah Blitz Heyman
Hannah Blitz Heyman’s practice explores the intersection of jewelry and objects, with a focus on how digital expressions can be translated into analog form. Rooted in a fascination with the human hand’s imprint on material, she investigates how matter is transformed to fit into our world. Rather than forcing the material, Blitz Heyman seeks to find new and organic shapes by working in close dialogue with silver, allowing its natural structure to guide the outcome. This approach resists smooth and perfect surfaces in favor of forms that feel raw and alive.
Her process is playful and exploratory, often inspired by the idea of returning to the mountain from which her materials are extracted. The textures of her jewelry derive from the casting clay, with the silver processed as little as possible to preserve its organic qualities. These raw structures are interrupted by naive shapes such as hearts or butterflies and faceted gemstones. The vibrant colors of the stones echo the playfulness of the making process itself, inviting the viewer to share the same spirit of curiosity and openness that guides her work.
Hannah Blitz Heyman (b. 1994) lives and works in Stockholm. She holds a Master’s degree from CRAFT! at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design.
