Sculptor

Carl Michael Hansen

Carl Michael Hansen’s practice is grounded in sculpture and painting, rooted in an intuitive process where the hands lead and the mind follows. His works emerge as physical reflections of inner states, blending vulnerability with strength and turning emotion into form.

Influenced by a childhood surrounded by art, with one parent a sculptor and the other an art gallerist, Hansen began working professionally with sculpture in 2020. Drawing from a background in music, he approaches art making as a sensory dialogue in which rhythm, emotion and form intersect. His sculptures evoke both tension and calm, exploring themes of fear, courage and emotional transformation. Through this, Hansen invites viewers into a personal yet universally resonant space of feeling.

Carl Michael Hansen (b. 1990) lives and works in Stockholm.
