Artist: Emma Stocklassa

Emma Stocklassa’s practice moves between furniture, object and spatial design, with a particular focus on metal craftsmanship. Her work is characterized by experimental forms, unexpected details and what she describes as a sense of punk.

Drawing inspiration from a broad range of references beyond the furniture world - from 1980s film scenography to natural phenomena - Stocklassa works through a free and intuitive process where ideas are allowed to develop organically.

Central to Stocklassa’s practice is a strong fascination with metal and its material possibilities. Aluminium is one of her most frequently used materials, valued for its ability to shift between softness and hardness, polished and matte surfaces. Steel, with its strength, durability and industrial presence, also plays an important role in her work. Although her current focus lies primarily in metal, wood remains an important material in her creative background.

Stocklassa participated in the 2026 Vårsalongen at Liljevalchs with the work Storasyster, which is part of an object series where a visual perception shift gives the impression of softness, although the material consists of hard and cold aluminum.

Emma Stocklassa (b. 1997 in the Czech Republic) holds a Master’s degree in Spatial Design from Konstfack (2020 - 2023) and a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design (2019 - 2023). She has also completed a preparatory program in wood, form, and design at Nyckelviksskolan (2019 - 2020).
