Amanda Borgfors Mészáros is a Swedish designer and artist based in Stockholm. She has a background in fashion design from Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm and has previously worked in the fields of design and art. 2020 she was awarded ”Newcomer of the year” at ELLE galan, with the motivation: ”Craftsmanship at a high, creative level. Sensual volumes and sculptural silhouettes. Couture art, reuse and visionary thinking in a unique expression with high contemporary relevance”.
ABOMÉ Studio was born. An independent, multi-disciplinary brand and a growing family of collections within design and art, crafted to empower us and our surrounding spaces. Amanda crafts all objects by hand, in materials such as leftover vegetable tanned leather from Tärnsjö Garveri in Sweden and natural stoneware clay, which retains the strong connection to the earth. She wishes to create something special with each piece having its own characteristics, like in every unique detail of body and nature. Her background in fashion design shows in the objects bodily inspired shapes and silhouettes, sensual and soft, yet powerful.
