Amanda Sartori Leksell

Amanda Sartori Leksell’s practice explores weaving and screen printing as tools for building vibrant, patterned textile worlds. Rooted in an intuitive approach to colour and form, her works draw inspiration from both nature and the imaginary. Patterns and surfaces interact with space, creating textiles that assert presence and move beyond the wall or frame.

Whether working on handwoven installations or richly layered prints, Leksell lets material, rhythm and structure guide the process, aiming to create harmony and tension through colour. Alongside her studio practice she has realised commissions ranging from handwoven wall hangings for film productions to printed textiles for design collaborations. Her work has been presented in both solo and group exhibitions, including Ung Svensk Form (2025), Vårutställningen at Konstfack (2024) and Fiber Futures at Handarbetets Vänner Galleri (2024). She has been awarded numerous grants and scholarships, among them the Svensk Form Stipendium, Bengt Julin Foundation Grant and several awards from the JL Eklund Craft Foundation.

Amanda Sartori Leksell (b. 1993) lives and works in Stockholm. She holds a BA in Textile Art from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design and has also studied at Handarbetets Vänner in Stockholm.
